Baltimore, Md –
July 20, 2010 –David Cahn and Harry Rifkin,
partners of the Franchise & Business Law Group, the
only law firm in Maryland dedicated to representing
franchisors and franchisees, have been tapped to
share their experiences and insights on panels at
two prestigious industry conferences; the
International Franchise Association’s Fran-Guard™
Legal Roundtable Series and QSR Magazine’s Dine
America event.
Mr. Cahn, founder of
FBL, will serve as a co-presenter in Washington,
D.C. at the IFA’s Fran-Guard™ Legal Roundtable
Series event on franchising sales compliance taking
place at the JW Marriot on September 15. Cahn will
address the importance of compliance and how a
system-wide compliance program can protect franchise
systems and make the business more profitable.
The national IFA’s
Fran-Guard™ Legal Roundtable Series presents a
comprehensive resource for CEOs and senior
executives, franchise development professionals,
in-house franchise attorneys, paralegals and
compliance managers to learn from each other and
from industry veterans. The event follows IFA’s
annual Public Affairs Conference, during which
hundreds of franchisees and franchisors visit
members of Congress to discuss issues of importance
to small business owners. Cahn was chosen to
co-lead a seminar based on his extensive experience
helping franchisors deal with compliance in the
Baltimore and Washington markets.
The IFA Fran-Guard™
event, which is also hosted in several cities
including Dallas, Chicago, Tampa, and Los Angeles,
also offers attendees the opportunity to earn
credits towards a Certified Franchise Executive (“CFE”)
certification through participation in the
interactive event as well as satisfactory completion
of a written test.
Mr. Rifkin has been
selected by QSR, a national magazine that focuses on
news and information for the quick-service food
business industry, to speak on a panel at the Dine
America, an executive idea exchange taking place on
September 12 – 14 at the Westin Buckhead in Atlanta,
Georgia. Rifkin will speak on the
Franchisee/Franchisor Relationship panel and tackle
issues and questions about ways to strengthen and
maintain the franchisee/franchisor relationship
during the two-day professional development
conference.
