David G. Ross, Esq.
of Counsel
Dave Ross has spent
years representing franchised and non-franchised businesses in
complex litigation and transactional matters. His tireless dedication to his
clients and ability to successfully handle difficult legal
issues have been hallmarks of a distinguished career.
Prior to joining the
Franchise & Business Law Group, Mr. Ross practiced at a
franchise litigation firm that represented clients in state and
federal courts throughout the country. During his years at that firm, he
squared off against some of the nation’s largest and most
powerful hotel, restaurant, and retail franchisors. That experience taught him the
“tricks of the franchise trade,” as he routinely confronted key
franchise issues such as termination, liquidated damages
provisions, protected territories, encroachment, quality assurance,
franchisor fraud, restrictive covenants, and statutory
disclosure requirements.
Mr. Ross has extensive
non-franchise experience as well, and his clients have run the
gamut from small business owners to a professional employer
organization with assets exceeding $500 million. Indeed, he has successfully handled
numerous transactional and litigation matters involving buy-sell
agreements, service contracts, and employment relationships. Litigation issues addressed by him
include claims for breach of contract, tortious interference
with contract, civil fraud, breach of fiduciary duties,
trademark infringement, and wrongful discharge.
Mr. Ross, who graduated cum laude from American University's Washington College of Law in 1997, is
licensed in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and New Jersey. He’s a member of the American Association of Franchisees
and Dealers, Maryland State Bar Association Committee on
Franchising, American Bar Association Forum on Franchising, and
Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers Association. |
